
Dave graduated from Villanova University in 1965. After obtaining a Master’s Degree in History in 1968, Dave pivoted to a long career in business. He spent 28 years with 3M Company in various management roles that included five years overseas in Asia, as well as running a number of 3M’s global businesses. He was also President of Rubbermaid Corporation from 1996 until 1999; Chairman and CEO of Perrigo, a global consumer and generic drug pharmaceutical company, from 2000 to 2008; and Chairman of the Board of Cott Corporation, a private label beverage manufacturer, from 2008 to 2017.
Dave has also been actively involved in numerous charitable organizations including Naples Children Foundation (founders of the Naples Winter Wine Festival) where he has served as Chairman of the Board and is currently an active member of the Board; Southwest Florida Children’s Charities where he was a founding trustee in 2008; Bridge to a Cure (pediatric brain cancer), where he has been a Board member since 2022; African Parks Foundation where he was a Board member from 2015 until early 2025; and a member of the Chairman’s Circle of Central Park Conservancy.
In addition, Dave has supported many local Naples charities such as Gulfshore Players; Youth Haven; Immokalee Foundation; Artis-Naples; and the American Cancer Society, where he was Honorary Chair in 2023.
Dave currently resides in Naples, Florida and New York City. He has four sons and seven grandchildren.
